Local – Let Them Eat Cake NYD 2020

Harvey Sutherland

Elegantly fusing the nostalgic sounds of funk, disco, and soul with a modern electronic house sensibility, Harvey Sutherland has earned his stripes at one of the most forward-thinking producers working today. Following a string of EPs on record labels Voyage Recordings, Echovolt Records, MCDE, and Clarity Recordings, the funk synthesist has garnered praise from Gilles Peterson, Jamie XX, Disclosure and The Black Madonna. Weaving between the old and the new, Harvey Sutherland and his band Bermuda have sold out shows across the world, performing at Glastonbury, Nuits Sonores, and London’s Jazz Cafe. Harvey’s upward career trajectory has seen him perform a disco suite alongside the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, as well as directing an 11-piece band in support of New York icon Leroy Burgess. Get ready for one of the most lively shows in all of dance music.

Wax’o Paradiso

With a penchant for all things cosmic disco, feel good, and groove based, Wax’o Paradiso have remained at the peak of Melbourne’s local scene for years. Dubbed the Dimboola triangle of lost groove, Wax’o has popped up in floating rooftop gardens, luscious convents, shipping containers, train yards, supernatural amphitheatres and smack bang under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. United by a penchant for kitsch Australian psychedelia, and a firm belief that Pavlova is indeed the Queen of the dessert, the Wax’o Paradiso family is hell-bent on getting you hell-bent. Having played memorable sets at Strawberry Fields Festival, Pitch Music & Arts, and Freedom Time, their combined talents have taken them overseas to venues ://aboutblank in Berlin, Festimi in Amsterdam and Giant Steps in London, proving the Wax’o brand knows no bounds.
